Chapter 2
Living Together Again with My Ex-Husband • Chapter 4
Chapter 2
Fights between best friends usually stem from either money or men.
Given that I had no money, I figured the only reason my best friend was being so cold must be because of a man.
But as I stared at Luke Brown’s face, I couldn’t help wondering—how blind had I been to leave such a man and cheat on him?
“Are you planning to go chop him up?”
I awkwardly put down the knife. “This is a civilized society. We can’t go around yelling about beating or killing people.”
Luke Brown snorted, as if mocking me.
I asked again, hoping to find a breakthrough.
But Luke Brown walked into the kitchen, picked up the knife, and started cooking.
The spacious kitchen suddenly felt cramped. I struggled to breathe and twisted my hips to edge my way out.
“Wash the vegetables.”
“Oh, okay.”
I glanced sideways at Luke Brown, feeling the atmosphere was off. I’d cheated on him, yet this ex-husband of mine was being far too patient, right?
After thinking for a long time, my gaze drifted down to Luke Brown’s waist.
“Are you… impotent?”
Luke Brown flicked his spatula, and a piece of braised pork flew out of the pot. One piece landed right in front of me, wobbling slightly.
I hesitated whether to pick it up and eat it, but Luke Brown suddenly grabbed me, lifted me up, and pressed me against the wall.
“Am I impotent? Do you want to test it out?”
He held both my wrists, forcing me to stand on tiptoe.
My lower abdomen brushed against a certain part of his body, and I clearly felt that he was definitely not impotent.
“Um… maybe we should go back to talking about the person I cheated with?”
“Do you care that much?” He leaned in, and the faint scent of pine made my head spin.
“Of course I care! If it weren’t for him, would I be left with not a single cent to my name?”
I was truly anxious. When you’re penniless, even a hero struggles—and my dignity was already gone, okay?
But he moved even closer. His deep eyes reflected my flustered face, and my dignity vanished in an instant.
For some reason, as my eyes fell on his lips, I leaned forward slightly and kissed him.
The man in front of me froze for a moment, but just as I was about to pull back, he deepened the kiss.
