Chapter 1

Living Together Again with My Ex-Husband   •   Chapter 3

Chapter 1

It took me a week to recall most things, except for Luke Brown.

Regarding this ex-husband who showed up at my place frequently, I decided to have a serious talk with him.

“When did we get married? And why did we divorce?”

Luke Brown was working on his computer, dressed in casual home clothes with a pair of gold-rimmed glasses, exuding an 禁欲 ic and cold aura.

Hearing my question, he looked up and glanced at me sideways, his tone flat, “You cheated on me.”

I almost blurted out a swear word, my face flushing with anger, yet I lacked confidence because of my amnesia.

“Even if that’s the case, why do you keep staying at my place?”

Luke Brown opened a drawer, pulled out a property deed and a cohabitation agreement, and tossed them to me.

After reading them, my confidence plummeted even more.

I’d walked out of the marriage with nothing and still clung to living under the same roof after the divorce. My face burned with embarrassment. I dug the tips of my toes into the floor for a long time before forcing out a sentence.

“What do you want for dinner? I’ll cook.”

I grabbed a kitchen knife and chopped at the cutting board violently. After chopping for a while, I took out my phone again, checked all my payment methods, and confirmed I had not a single cent left.

“Did they really have to clean me out this thoroughly when I left with nothing?”

I rummaged through my phone, then dialed a number from memory.

I mentally prepared myself for ages, expecting the warm enthusiasm a best friend should have. But as soon as I was about to greet her, a shrill scream came from the other end.

“Lucy White, let me tell you—no money, no love, and we’re done!”

The call hung up with a click. I stood frozen, the courage I’d just mustered deflating instantly.

What on earth had I done to turn my once gentle and sweet best friend into such an irritable person?

“Where’s the food?”

A cold male voice interrupted my thoughts. I turned around and saw Luke Brown standing with his arms crossed, looking coolly at the knife in my hand.

“Are we having braised cutting board for dinner tonight?”

I forced an awkward smile, held up the knife, and asked, “Luke Brown, who was the person I cheated with?”
