Living Together Again with My Ex-Husband • Chapter 25
Chapter 21
I skipped the investment promotion conference and went with Tyler King to a mental hospital.
I saw the woman from the video. Her name was Lily King—she was Tyler King’s older sister.
Tyler King told me that Lily King had been Luke Brown’s girlfriend. Not only had he seduced her and then abandoned her, but she’d also had an abortion and tried to commit suicide because of him. In the end, she’d been driven to the brink of madness and ended up like this.
I couldn’t believe it, but the hideous scars on the woman’s body in front of me left no room for doubt.
“I won’t let you become the second her. I’ll help you get your company back. Trust me.”
Tyler King held my shoulders, his eyes urgent and his tone sincere.
My mind was in chaos. I couldn’t say a word in response.
That afternoon, Luke Brown came back from his business trip. He called me into his office and chewed me out.
As I looked at this man, who was calmly handling work matters, I realized for the first time that some people really had hearts of stone.
“I went to see Lily King,” I suddenly said.
Luke Brown’s hand trembled, and his chest heaved violently. He gave me a dark look and spat out two words: “Get out.”
I suddenly felt wronged. I refused to turn around, forcing myself to push things to the edge.
“So… everything I saw was true, wasn’t it?”
“Get out!”
Luke Brown slammed the documents in his hand onto the desk. I couldn’t hold on any longer. I turned around and fled in a panic.
Fragments of chaotic memories swirled in my mind. I felt like I’d become Lily King, being treated so cruelly and ruthlessly by Luke Brown.
I clutched my head and huddled in pain on the sofa.
Could it be… could this be the real reason Luke Brown and I divorced?
Was everything Ethan Green had said true?
Everything around me turned dark. My head ached so badly that I felt like something was tearing at my clothes—something disgusting and repulsive.
Then, the faint scent of pine surrounded me. Strong arms held me tightly, pulling me desperately out of the darkness.
“Luke Brown, let me go!”
