Chapter 2
I'm the President's White Moonlight • Chapter 4
Chapter 2
I gave her a polite smile, then took Secretary Wang to the corner where the elevator was. I let down my ponytail, lowered my head, and used my hair to cover part of my face before walking back in.
Benjamin Lin's company was quite large. Secretary Wang and I tried our best to stay close to the wall as we walked. "Hurry up, don't let anyone spot us. I want to see what kind of person she is—how dare she look like me?"
When we sneaked over to the outside of the president's office, we immediately saw the girl sitting at the desk right outside, typing on the keyboard.
???? I was truly shocked—even more shocked than when I got 18 points on my chemistry exam.
Secretary Wang reminded me in a low voice, "Miss, miss, watch your expression. You're the second young lady of the Shaw family, after all."
I couldn't help but exclaim, "She looks exactly like me! Oh my god, hurry, let's go! I need to call my dad right now."
We quickly left Benjamin Lin's company. As soon as we got downstairs, I called my dad.
"Is this my dear, understanding father?"
There was a moment of silence on the other end of the phone. "How much money do you want? Come home first, and I'll give it to you after dinner."
"Aww, it's not about money! Though if you want to give me some, I won't say no. But actually... I know I skipped classes and didn't study in junior high, fell in love early and had bad grades in high school, and even almost didn't graduate when I was sent abroad. But my sister is already so outstanding—she's perfectly capable of taking over Shaw Group. You don't have to find an illegitimate daughter to replace me, do you?"
"Woohoo, do you think I'm too stupid, so you want to replace me with her?"
This time, my dad didn't stay silent—he started scolding me right away. "You, get back here right now! Do you know what you're talking about? Lucky I didn't turn on the speakerphone—if your mom had heard this, she would have started a fight with me. I'll cut off your allowance for two months if you don't get back here immediately! All you do is fool around outside—can't you make me worry less?"
Dad was so fierce. I quickly apologized. "Yes, sorry, Dad! I'll be right back, I'm sorry, sorry, bye!"
I obediently followed Secretary Wang back home. My sister and mom were already waiting at the door. I didn't see Dad, so I guessed he was really angry.
Mom took my hand, her face full of concern. "Didn't you get used to the food abroad? You've lost weight."
"I told your dad back then that we could just pay some money to get you into a school here in China, but he insisted on sending you abroad."
I touched my waist. "Really? I don't feel like I've lost any weight."
My sister called the maid to take my luggage inside. "Alright, no matter how things were abroad, you're back now. Come inside quickly—the maid made your favorite sweet and sour pork ribs."
During dinner, my sister and mom kept piling food onto my plate. Dad was still a bit angry at first, but since we hadn't seen each other in so long, his anger gradually faded as he watched me eat obediently.
After dinner, I pulled my sister aside and asked in a low voice, "Sis, do you know who that girl who looks like me is— the one around Benjamin Lin?"
"You still haven't forgotten him?" My sister frowned at me, her tone a little annoyed. "After how Benjamin Lin treated you back then, do you still have feelings for him?"
"No, no!" I quickly explained. "I'm just curious—curious about who that girl is."
My sister finally breathed a sigh of relief. "Good thing you don't have those kinds of feelings for him anymore."
"I looked into that girl. Her family background is ordinary, and she graduated from a regular second-tier university. She originally got rejected when she interviewed at Benjamin Lin's company. But she wasn't willing to give up—she actually waited for Benjamin Lin at the company gate. She rambled on about how hard she had worked for the interview, how much effort she had put in... and for some reason, Benjamin Lin ended up hiring her and put her by his side as an assistant."
"Don't go looking for him when you have nothing to do. Spend more time with me at the company to learn something, instead of just fooling around all day."
I hooked my arm around my sister's shoulder and leaned against her. "Aww, the company has you— that's more than enough!"
She sighed. "I really don't know what to do with you. I was even talking about teaching you to manage the company, but you can barely take care of yourself."
I still hadn't gotten over the jet lag. After my sister left, I went back to my room to sleep. When I woke up, I found five missed calls and more than a dozen messages on my phone—all from Benjamin Lin.
