After we confessed our feelings to each other, I still moved out of Ethan Zhou's place.

But to make it easier to see him whenever I wanted, I rented a new apartment in the neighborhood next to his.

Sometimes I'd buy groceries and go to his place to cook together.

Seeing how busy he was, I even tried my best to learn how to cook a few dishes. The taste wasn't great, but at least the food was cooked through.

As expected, Ethan Zhou's dad didn't change his ways—he came around several times, but each time Ethan Zhou contacted the property management to have him kicked out.

But one day, when I went to see Ethan Zhou, I ran into his dad head-on.

He took advantage of my surprise, tied me up, and threatened Ethan Zhou to give him money.

Luckily, we called the police in time. I got a few hits, but nothing serious.

And his dad was sent to jail for this crime.

After receiving education from the authorities, he finally calmed down and stopped harassing Ethan Zhou.

My dad also gave his approval to my relationship with Ethan Zhou.

It really turned out like the silly thing I said back then: "Don't worry—from now on, my dad is your dad."
