Chapter 3

Living Together Again with My Ex-Husband   â€˘   Chapter 5

Chapter 3

The braised pork was no longer edible. I stared regretfully at the meat chunks in the trash can, then licked my lips.

“Luke Brown, you did kiss me just now, right?”

Luke Brown choked on his vegetable porridge, his face turning a lovely shade of red.

He coughed muffledly for a few times before grabbing a tissue to wipe his mouth. Regaining his cold and elegant demeanor, he looked at me.

“Lucy White, according to the cohabitation agreement, you are not allowed to physically assault me.”

His words made it sound like I was in the wrong.

I thought it was necessary to clarify some things, otherwise it would seem like I’d taken advantage of him.

“You’re too good-looking, and the mood was just right. It was reasonable for me to couldn’t help but kiss you. But you didn’t refuse—you even kissed me back. And the main thing is, you stuck your tongue in…”

Luke Brown’s face turned so dark it looked terrifying, and his words came out through gritted teeth.

I swallowed the rest of my sentence—I was going to say “You must really like me.”

I grew more and more curious about the memories I’d lost. How could I have no memory of such an ex-husband who loved me so much?

No, I couldn’t go on like this.

“Can you give me some money? I’m really broke.”

I suddenly leaned in, putting on a pitiful expression.

I’d been cooped up in this villa for a week, trying every trick I could think of to regain my memory—I’d even almost jumped off the second floor—but I still couldn’t remember Luke Brown.

Since that wasn’t working, I planned to go out and look for clues. For example, I could ask my best friend again in person. From the way she’d spoken earlier, it seemed like she knew something.

Luke Brown stared at me without saying a word.

His gaze made me feel jittery all over. More importantly, his eyes were dark and murky, filled with such complicated emotions that I began to seriously wonder if my request was too much.

“Not even a hundred yuan? Just lend it to me—I’ll even pay interest.”

When he still didn’t speak, I started rummaging through my clothes, looking for something to pawn. Just as my hand reached for the buttons of my shirt to unbutton it, Luke Brown finally spoke.

“What do you need the money for?”

“To go out.”

“To find the man you cheated with?”

I froze for a moment, then glared back at Luke Brown in confusion. “Are you jealous?”
