How Did I End Up Sleeping with My Arch-Nemesis?   â€˘   Chapter 6

Chapter 4

Thinking back to that day, I ranted to Vivian—dragging Ethan into it too.

“Ethan Wells knows full well I can’t stand Adrian Foster! And yet he still brought him to watch me make a fool of myself drunk! I’m so mad!”

Vivian sat beside me, admiring her new nails—sneaking in a break from work.

But people like us—even if we never worked again, we’d still be fine.

“Ethan asked me to go to the movies—you coming?”

I snapped back, “No! If Ethan’s going, that annoying guy will probably be there too. I don’t want to see him.”

“Fine, I’ll go alone then~”

The second it was time to leave work, Vivian bolted out the door. A Porsche was parked at the company entrance, and Ethan held the door open for her—so sweet.

Adrian wasn’t with him, though.

To avoid awkwardness, I’d been avoiding Adrian for two weeks. I’d hoped he’d just forget about what happened.

But that guy kept blowing up my WeChat!

“Anna… Did you really run away?”

“I told you I didn’t want to that night—you forced me, and now you’re trying to ghost me?”

“Anna, you can’t just use me up and call it quits, right?”

“Anna, you really just took what you wanted and left me high and dry?!”

…

Even though I didn’t reply to a single message, he kept sending them—every day, without fail.

A grown man demanding I take responsibility?!

No one would believe Adrian Foster was capable of this if I told them.

But fate loves to mock you. The more you try to avoid someone, the more you end up running into them.

At that moment, I felt so helpless!

I should’ve moved out when I had the chance. Now he’d cornered me right outside my door…

Like a debt collector.

Adrian was wearing a black suit—pressed so crisp, not a single wrinkle, even after a full day of work. He leaned against my doorframe, the streetlight from the hallway casting a glow on his handsome face. The mole at the corner of his eye added a hint of mischief.

When he saw me, the corners of his lips lifted into a smile.

He had a naturally cold aura, but when he smiled, he looked a little rogue—yet it suited him perfectly. Like a wealthy young master who loved playing pranks.

I took a deep breath, forcing myself to forget what happened, and tried to stay calm as I walked over to unlock the door.

I knew he was messing with me. Annoyed, I slapped his arm.

“Hey… Move out of my way!”

To my surprise, Adrian didn’t argue back like he usually did. Instead, he stood up obediently—only to yank the door open and squeeze in as I tried to close it.

“What… What are you doing?!”

“Anna, you really thought you could sleep with me and just run away?”

Adrian stepped closer, a playful grin on his face. He propped one hand on the sofa behind me, his tall, muscular frame looming over me—so intimidating.

I stumbled back onto the sofa, shrinking into myself. I swallowed hard, but still forced myself to hold my ground.

“So what if I did? You’re a man—demanding I take responsibility? I should be the one asking you to take responsibility!”

Adrian immediately fired back, “Fine then. I’ll take responsibility for you. Be my girlfriend.”

He was trying to trick me! No way!

“I don’t want to. Get out of here.” I pushed his chest hard.

“Sigh… What am I supposed to tell your mom when she asks then?” Adrian stood up, looking troubled.

Hearing that, my face went dark. He always knew how to get to me. I’d never won an argument against him—and more often than not, he was the one who ended up getting hit.

Now he had leverage over me, and I had no choice but to give in. So Adrian moved into my place—bold as day.
