Living Together Again with My Ex-Husband • Chapter 22
Chapter 18
There’s no worse feeling than shooting yourself in the foot. I didn’t bother explaining.
But Ethan Green didn’t press the issue either. He leaned back in his chair.
“You shouldn’t have acted on impulse. Once you get involved with Luke Brown, he’ll never let you go. I’ll say it again—grab Tyler King. He’ll be your only way out of Luke Brown’s control.”
I thought again about what Ethan Green had said to me that night outside the villa.
I couldn’t help but think that Ethan Green might be suffering from persecution delusions.
But I did seriously consider the idea of working with Tyler King on an investment.
If there was a good project, cooperating with him wouldn’t be a bad idea.
The atmosphere was relatively pleasant when Sophia Miller called.
“I booked a room for you. Don’t go back tonight—you’ve been obsessing over jumping Luke Brown’s bones all day. Spend the night with someone else, and you’ll stop being stupid.”
I habitually turned on the speakerphone. The scene fell completely silent.
I wanted to throw my phone into a glass of water.
Was Sophia Miller out of her mind?
I looked up, ready to explain, but saw that Ethan Green and Tyler King’s gazes weren’t on me—they were on someone behind me.
A bad feeling suddenly came over me. I slowly tilted my head back, and against the light, I saw Luke Brown’s expressionless face.
Oh no? Why was he here?
“Do you really want to jump my bones that badly?”
Luke Brown’s tone was still calm, but I panicked. I jumped to my feet and tried to cover his mouth, but he pushed my hand away and pressed me back into my seat.
Just then, someone walked over and waved at Luke Brown.
“Mr. Lu, over here! Everyone’s waiting for you.”
Luke Brown gave me a cold glance, then strode toward the person.
The atmosphere fell silent again.
Tyler King suddenly spoke. “So that’s Luke Brown.”
There was something strange about his tone. I couldn’t help but look at him, only to see Tyler King staring at Luke Brown’s back, his eyes gradually turning red.
