Chapter 5
The Night Before the Wedding, My Fiancé Ran Off with His First Love • Chapter 7
Chapter 5
Two weeks had passed since the runaway groom incident.
I ate well, slept well—didn’t 亏待 myself one bit.
“Are you really okay, Yuanyuan?” My best friend Luna Wilson looked at me, worried.
I smiled and patted her head.
“I’m fine, really. Look how much I’ve been eating lately—I don’t even bother dieting anymore.”
But the truth was, I hadn’t slept a full night in weeks. I just didn’t dare tell her. I didn’t want to be a burden.
“Yuanyuan, I don’t know if I should tell you this... but I saw Ryan Smith the other day,” Luna finally said, hesitating.
Ryan Smith. The name shattered the facade of strength I’d been clinging to.
I felt a chill wash over me, my body trembling uncontrollably. “Where?”
“At the supermarket near my place. I saw him with a woman,” Luna mumbled.
“I wanted to go up and yell at that jerk, but... the woman looked pregnant. So I just...”
Pregnant? Ha.
Tears burst forth, streaming down my face.
I’d always thought Ryan had betrayed me just the night before our wedding. But it turned out...
I’d been nothing but a delusional clown all along.
I couldn’t accept it.
I wanted revenge.
I found the crumpled business card I’d stuffed away, dialed the number on it.
“Is what you said last time still true?”
There was a moment of silence on the other end, then a cold, sharp voice replied:
“It never expired.”
