Chapter 11
Rejecting My Boyfriend's Belated Affection • Chapter 13
Chapter 11
I didn't need someone to travel with me anymore.
Travel had become a part of my life.
From the colorful Yunnan to the vast Gobi Desert, from green grasslands to snow-capped mountains—I carried my sketchbook and my camera with me everywhere I went.
In the end, I moved back to City F—the city I'd given up for Ethan all those years ago. I finally got to live the life I'd once dreamed of.
It turned out that without Ethan, I could be happy—happier than I'd ever been.
When my friends and I talked about the past, I could barely believe I'd ever endured those painful years.
"They say he's still waiting for you to change your mind," one of my friends told me.
I laughed. "That's unnecessary."
Later, I heard he still hadn't gotten together with Olivia Parker.
He'd dated one girl after another, but every single one of them had reminded people of me—they all had a little piece of me in them.
I shook my head. "That just makes him even more pathetic."
When I heard that, I knew for sure that I'd made the right decision.
Some people will never learn to cherish what's right in front of them.
They only want what they can't have.
Ethan tried to contact me on Weibo.
I posted a lot on there—photos, my artwork, little snippets of my daily life.
"How have you been lately?" he asked.
"Good," I replied.
"Are you married?"
As if he couldn't see the photos on my profile.
I'd met my husband while traveling. We'd been together for three years now—happy, peaceful, equal.
With him, I felt valued, loved, seen.
I didn't know why Ethan had contacted me, and I didn't care.
After a few more awkward messages, I blocked him.
The past was the past.
And I was finally ready to move on.
