When I woke up the next day, my phone was blowing up with calls.

“Iris White, you better explain! What the hell happened to A Yu?” My mother’s shrill voice cut through the line.

“What else? I got dumped,” I said, pretending to be nonchalant.

She launched into a tirade. I couldn’t take it anymore and hung up.

I’m the one who got dumped—so why does it feel like I’m the one in the wrong?

I opened WeChat and apologized one by one to the guests who were supposed to attend the wedding.

In the end, I was the one left cleaning up the mess.

I thought back to the love I’d shown off on Moments lately: our wedding photos, the diamond ring, the invitations.

Now they were all just jokes in others’ mouths.

The only silver lining? We hadn’t gotten our marriage certificate yet.

Looking at the replies—all those half-hearted consolations—I knew they were secretly laughing. Iris White, who always acted so high and mighty, finally got her comeuppance.

After all, to them, I’d always been arrogant and unyielding.

And in the end, I’d lost.
