Chapter 6

Living Together Again with My Ex-Husband   â€˘   Chapter 8

Chapter 6

It took me a little while to figure out that everyone in the meeting room was a senior executive of the company.

Unfortunately, I didn’t know any of them…

When I returned, 80% of the people in the company were unhappy about it, and the remaining 20% couldn’t care less.

After firing all the loyal employees my grandfather had left behind, I finally understood what it meant to “squander a winning hand.”

Sophia Miller stayed to help me through the first fight, then left—after all, she was busy too.

I sat in the office, staring at the empty desk, feeling a little uneasy. I’d never owned a company before, nor had I ever been a boss. What was I supposed to do now?

In desperation, I had no choice but to call Luke Brown. He answered in one second, which instantly lifted my mood a little.

I humbly asked for advice for half an hour, and finally got a basic idea of how the company worked.

Now, the first step was to have a good talk with Ethan Green.

But he ignored me, so I had to take the initiative to go find him.

I slipped into the guest sofa just as his other pretty secretary was panicking and lifting her skirt to rush out.

“Lucy, she spilled coffee on my clothes while pouring it for me—don’t get me wrong.”

His explanation was completely insincere, but I still nodded. After all, I needed to take the opportunity to back down a little.

“I’ve secured an investment, but the other party will only sign the contract with me.”

It was a lie—I just wanted to take back control of the company first.

Ethan Green’s expression turned ugly. “This is the company’s project, the result of many people’s hard work. If you do this, I’m afraid the others will have objections.”

“That’s fine. I’m the boss, so what I say goes. If they have objections, they can leave. Prepare the documents and bring them to me this afternoon. You don’t need to worry about who the project leader will be.”

I finished speaking and stood up to leave, but he suddenly reached out and hugged me.
