Chapter 1
After My Death, My Ex-Husband Begged for My Forgiveness • Chapter 3
Chapter 1
As I walked home from the hospital, snowflakes began to drift down from the sky.
The sky was overcast, and there were barely any taxis on the road.
By the time I got home, it was already the middle of the night, and I was so cold that my whole body felt stiff.
William Green was sitting on the sofa. When he saw me come in, he didn't say a word.
In truth, there was nothing left to say—we were supposed to go get our divorce certificates the day after tomorrow.
He had already moved out before this.
Today, I had forced him to come back here and stay for one more night.
Tomorrow would be the last day of the cooling-off period.
I thought that between us, we should at least have a proper beginning and a proper end.
When I turned to go to the bedroom, William Green couldn't hold back and walked over.
He looked impatient: "I've been waiting for you all night. Don't you have anything to say to me?"
I stared at him in silence.
We had long since run out of patience for each other.
From the moment we first laid eyes on each other in our youth to the point where we couldn't stand the sight of one another—time really had the power to turn everything upside down.
I took a step back, pulled out my phone, and typed: "My throat doesn't feel good. You can sleep in the guest room."
William Green frowned and muttered "There's something wrong with you" before turning and heading to the guest room.
Well, he wasn't wrong—I really was sick.
I slipped my phone back into my pocket and stood in the living room for a while.
My limbs felt stiff, and no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't warm up.
Suddenly, it dawned on me that I hadn't told William Green what we needed to do tomorrow.
I quickly wrote it down on a sticky note and placed it on the dining table.
