After our fight, my boyfriend slammed the door and left in the middle of the night. As I chased after him, I got into a car accident and fell into a coma.

In the ICU, he was overwhelmed with remorse.

"I'd do anything if you'd just wake up," he said.

I listened silently, refusing to open my eyes and look at his disgusting face.

I thought about how he'd argued with me over that female colleague who showered him with constant attention.

I thought about the seven years of our marriage, and how his gaze toward me had grown colder and more disdainful with each passing day.

Belated affection is cheaper than grass.
