Chapter 13

I hadn't invited Alex Liu to my engagement banquet with Dylan Ye.

But somehow, he had found a way to get in.

He was wearing the same clothes he had worn when he confessed his love to me two years ago, and he was holding a bouquet of tulips.

"Ning Ning, these are your favorite flowers. You know my feelings for you have never changed. I was just blinded by money for a moment and did that stupid thing," he said, standing beside me and speaking in a tender, affectionate tone.

I really admired Alex Liu's thick skin, his fearlessness, and his ability to spout such nonsense.

It only made me more convinced that there was something wrong with his brain. Today was my engagement banquet—did he really think he could crash it and steal me away?

As expected, he continued speaking.

"I know you still like me deep down. I had no choice but to be with Lily! How could I ever like that fat woman? Come with me, Ning Ning. I swear I'll treat you well from now on."

I felt sorry for Alex Liu, because the "fat woman Lily" he was talking about—the housekeeper's daughter—was right there at the banquet.

I watched as Lily's round, white face turned so dark with anger that it looked like it was about to drip ink.

I didn't say a word, but Dylan Ye couldn't hold back anymore. My parents and his parents also stood up, clearly annoyed.

The security guards finally seemed to remember their duties. They rushed over quickly and dragged Alex Liu away.

I told the security guards to let him go. I walked slowly up to him and took the bouquet of tulips from his hands.

"Ning Ning," Alex Liu called out joyfully.

Just as he thought I was going to change my mind and go back to him, I smiled sweetly and called out to Lily.

Lily was already furious. She rushed over, grabbed Alex Liu's hair, and in an instant, blood was drawn.

Seeing this, I couldn't help but frown. I turned to the security guards standing on either side and ordered, "Take both of them away and keep them far from here."

After this farce was over, Dylan Ye put on a fake sad expression and said,

"For a moment there, I really thought you were going to go with him."

I snorted and said, "What would you do if I really had gone with him?"

He laughed loudly, "If your taste is that bad, I'd have to rethink our relationship."

"How dare you!" I kicked him lightly and held up the engagement ring he had given me, showing it off to him.
