Chapter 25

Living Together Again with My Ex-Husband   â€˘   Chapter 29

Chapter 25

I saw Daniel Green in prison. Ethan Green and Sophia Miller took me there.

I thought I’d scream and curse at him like a madwoman, but when I saw the man from the depths of my memories, all I felt was calm.

“I never thought we’d meet again after all these years.” Daniel Green smiled at me, the scar on his face making him look a little 狰狞.

After speaking, he glanced at Ethan Green. “A bastard will always be a bastard. You can’t even handle such a small thing. How dare you come see me?”

“I lost. I admit it. Otherwise, I’d be in jail with you right now.”

Ethan Green actually sounded quite calm. I was a little surprised. When I looked at him, I realized he’d really let go.

Now I understood why he’d never touched me. It wasn’t just because of Luke Brown—it was also because he’d never loved me in the first place.

All he’d wanted was my money, and to help Daniel Green get revenge on Luke Brown.

“Let’s go.” I stood up, ready to leave. But Daniel Green suddenly spoke. “Lucy White, get me out of here. From now on, I’ll only love you.”

I froze. I looked at Daniel Green’s face, at his smug smile, and thought that he was the one who was seriously sick.

“You’re a rapist. Who gave you the confidence? Why don’t you take a good look at yourself in the mirror? You’re not even worth a single hair on Luke Brown’s head.”

Daniel Green suddenly flew into a rage, screaming at me. “I should have slept with you when I had the chance! Damn you, Luke Brown! I’ll kill you one day!”

His madness was cut short by the prison guard’s baton. I watched him cower in fear and let out a deep breath.

When I walked out of the prison, I saw Luke Brown leaning against his car, smoking. There were already five or six cigarette butts on the ground—he’d obviously been waiting for a long time.

It was the first time I’d ever seen him smoke. The smoke swirled around his forehead, making it hard to see his eyes clearly.

“Where do you want to go?”

Luke Brown tossed the cigarette butt away, turned around, and opened the car door. The heater inside the car chased away the cold outside. I reached out and wrapped my arms around Luke Brown’s waist.

“Luke Brown, take me home.”
