Chapter 5

I thought I was acting a little strange—and it all started from the moment Ethan Zhou began his lecture.

But he didn't seem to notice anything was wrong with me. From the moment I got in the car, he kept chattering in my ear.

"It's not that I wouldn't let you hit her. If you had hit her, you would have been the one to strike first. If she really made a big deal out of it, you would have gotten a disciplinary penalty. Olivia Lin, are you even listening to me?"

He was sitting right next to me, his eyes staring at me intensely. His gaze made my whole body feel hot, and my face turned bright red from head to toe.

Finally, Ethan Zhou noticed something was wrong. He leaned closer, pressing his cool hand against my forehead. "Are you sick?"

I opened my eyes wide, not daring to move. My face turned even redder.

"Olivia Lin, did I embarrass you today?" He pulled his hand back, his eyes suddenly darkening—he looked so wronged, it was heartbreaking.

I tugged at my seatbelt. "No."

"Then why won't you look at me?"

When I didn't answer, he leaned even closer. My heart was pounding wildly, like it was about to jump out of my chest.

So I forced myself to change the subject. "I'm hungry."

It was like he'd found a way out. His voice brightened. "Well, I know a really good restaurant. But..."

He looked down at his clothes again. "Maybe I should go change first."

Looking at his embarrassed expression, I suddenly felt much better. But I still couldn't resist teasing him. "No need. You look fine like this."

He obviously heard the sarcasm in my voice. "I'd better change."

The car stopped in front of a clothing store.

It looked like a nice store, and the prices weren't too expensive.

After all, I was a beauty blogger with 300,000 followers—I had pretty good taste. I picked out a few stylish, casual outfits and told him to go try them on.

As the saying goes, clothes make the man. When he walked out of the fitting room a few seconds later, was this still the same old-fashioned guy from before?

The most foolproof outfit for guys—black jacket with cargo pants. Why were they so obsessed with bean shoes and skinny pants?

"Oh, right." I stepped forward, tiptoeing to take the thick glasses off his straight nose. "There we go—this is how you should look!"

Ethan Zhou reached out to pinch my cheek. "Olivia Lin, I can't see now."

Later, I dragged him to a nearby optical shop to get contact lenses.

Wow, even the shop assistant was stunned—she couldn't take her eyes off Ethan Zhou. "Miss, your boyfriend is so handsome!"

My face turned red, and my heart felt strangely sweet. "He's not my boyfriend... yet."

From the passersby's reactions, my makeover was a huge success.

I thought—if Ethan Zhou agreed, I could film a short video of him and switch to being a makeover blogger instead.

But Ethan Zhou probably didn't like taking photos. After all, there wasn't a single photo of him in his house.

Every feature of his face was perfect—he didn't need anything to cover it up. Those thick glasses only made his eyes look dull. Now that his face was fully exposed, he was definitely a Hong Kong-style heartthrob.

That night, while we were eating, a girl was even pushed forward by her friend to ask for Ethan Zhou's WeChat.

Ethan Zhou also seemed surprised by how popular he'd become. He looked up at me, hesitating. "Olivia Lin, should I add her?"

I rolled my eyes at him, pretending to be indifferent as I stirred my juice with a straw. "Do whatever you want—it's none of my business."

To my surprise, he actually took out his phone, opened his QR code, and let her scan it.

I felt a strange pang in my chest, but I still put on a calm face—I was totally green with envy. "Sigh~ I really went through all that trouble just to make someone else look good."
