My Husband Let the Scheming Other Woman Move Into Our Home • Chapter 12
Chapter 10
Seconds later, Noah stared at me in disbelief. "You have cancer?" His eyes reddened as he held my gaze, waiting for an answer.
Noah and I had grown up together—he was my best friend. I said nothing, unable to lie to him or tell him the truth. Noah pulled me into a hug, muttering, "Xiaoxue, how could this happen? Why didn’t you tell me?"
I patted his back gently. "Noah Harris, don’t tell anyone."
"What about Ethan? Does he know?"
"No."
He fell silent for a moment. "Check into the hospital. If Ethan won’t take care of you, I will!"
"It’s not that—it’s my choice. It has nothing to do with him."
Noah pulled away, staring at me. Finally, he gave in. "Fine—I’ll keep your secret."
"Thank you, Noah Harris." He’d always been like this—a 6-foot-tall man who’d always softened for someone as short as me, never able to say no to me.
"Xiaoxue—did Ethan do something to hurt you?"
"Not really. I just don’t want him anymore. I’m going to end things."
"Noah Harris, after I’m gone, will you take over my company?" I asked, forcing a smile.
"Don’t be ridiculous. Handle your own mess—I don’t have time to be your errand boy."
Noah drove me back to the company. "Take your medicine and take care of yourself. I’ll be watching you."
"I know." I waved goodbye.
