Chapter 16

Linda Brown had also seen the news, and everyone assumed she’d been the one to leak the photos.

In the hospital room, the three members of the Wilson family stood at Linda Brown’s bedside.

She tried to explain to Ryan, “Ryan Wilson, listen to me—I didn’t send those photos! I swear!”

“Stop lying! You hired someone to follow me and take those pictures!” Ryan shouted.

“I didn’t!” she insisted.

“Whether you did it or not, you’re no longer welcome in the Wilson family. Nina developed a mental illness because you bullied her,” Mom said sharply, throwing the bullying file onto Linda’s bed.

Linda Brown stared at the photos—at the thin, dark girl with thick glasses. Nina Miller... Nina Wilson.

“The girl in those photos is Nina. You haven’t forgotten, have you?” Mom asked, her voice trembling with anger.

“Auntie, please listen to me—I didn’t mean to! I was just a kid back then, I didn’t know what I was doing!” Linda begged.

“Didn’t know what you were doing? Do you think a single ‘I was young and stupid’ can fix this? This has haunted Nina for her whole life!” Mom snapped.

“Nina was too kind to tell us about this—she didn’t want to make things hard for us. And how have you repaid her? You’ve been pretending to be nice to her these past few months, but you never changed your true colors,” Mom added.

She clutched her chest, and Ryan hurried to support her.

“Linda Brown, you’ve been hiding this well, haven’t you?” Ryan said coldly. “You even had an abortion in high school?” He threw the second file in front of her.

“You’re not exactly a saint either—who do you think you are to judge me?” Linda snapped, giving up on defending herself.

“Let’s get a divorce. I’ve already drawn up the papers. The baby stays with me, and you get nothing,” Ryan said.

“What? Ryan Wilson, you monster!” she screamed.

David Wilson spoke up, his voice cold. “If you hand over custody of the baby peacefully, we won’t make things harder for you because of what you did to Nina. From now on, we’ll have nothing to do with each other.”

“If our child is around someone like you, she’ll grow up twisted,” he added.
